I) Title : Confluence of Rhythmic Feet

Brief description : The project aims at studying and understanding the different dance forms of various countries such as India, UAE,  Brazil and Russia through various purposeful activities. This project aims at natural methods of learning the basic forms of cultural expression and will enable the children to develop physically, emotionally, socially and cognitively.

 

Activity 1 : PPT

Children will be made to wear attires of various International dance forms and give performances

II) Title        :  Toys R Us

Big Idea :   My toys, your toys

 

Brief description : Through the medium of  toys, students will discover and gain an understanding of their own uniqueness as well as qualities which make others unique. Students will also demonstrate compassion and learn about community by looking at them selves as good toy players. We will make 2 toy back packs 1 for our recreation room and will donate one to Bal Vihar children. (School for deaf and dumb) India,U.K.,U.S.A.

The Project “Toys R Us’ will go through the following process.

Activity 1.  Tuning in – Watching movie toyland & their favourite  toys.

Activity 2 Worksheets  .

Activity 3.  Sorting  out – Observing & sorting new & old toys on the basis of their attributes.

Activity 4. Making of my own toy –handicrafts

Individual toy made by each child

Children will make their own toys with their parents and resource person.

Activity 5.  How can I be a good toy player

Framing rules to be a good toy player like  :

-           I should take care of the toys

 

-          I should keep the mat proper place.

-          I should not fight with my friends while playing.

         - Donating toys for Bal Vihar children.

III) Title : Food Terra

 

Brief description : The Project aims at making the students  acquainted with the food culture across the globe. The project will enable the students to develop healthy eating habits through various purposeful activities.

Activity 1 : Foody Chat

 1.  Puppet show and rhymes on healthy eating habits of India, U.K, U.S.A and China.

 

Activity 2 : Food Carnival

1.  Culture in tiffin box – Std I and II will bring food of India, China, U.S.A and U.K in their Tiffin box. A recipe will be exchanged with a partner school.

2.  Mum and Cub Tasty Affair -Students and their mothers will participate in salad dressing and sandwich making competition consisting of techniques from India, U.K, U.S.A and China

3.  Cookery show by a Chinese visitor  and dental check up by a doctor. 

Activity 3 : Know me: Display of craft work based on India, U.K, U.S.A and China will be done by students dressed up as fruits and vegetables.

Activity 4 : Field Trip

V) Title : Woodrow (Weather and Climate)

Brief description : Students share information about the weather and climate with a partner school. They discuss the similarities and differences between the weather and climate in their counties,  India, Australia ,

England , Egypt. Students could also extend their research to discuss flora and fauna.

 

Activity 1 :

Students prepare questionnaire to ask their partner school about weather and climate in their country.

 

 

Activity 2 : Students  examine similarities and differences with their partner schools about weather and climate (do they have four seasons? Do they have a lot of rain etc). They could discuss reasons for these.

Photograph display – Migratory birds and animals in India and Partner countries.

 

 

Activity 3 : Students design a presentation based on the shared  information  They can send this to their partner school. 

Ex : Ppt of flora and fauna of India and partner countries. 

Activity 4 :Students research  the different types of flora and fauna of India and partner countries.. They could examine common links between the types of plants and animals with the country’s climate.

And / or investigate any recent changes in the weather / climate in their or their partner schools and possible reasons for these changes.

VIII) Title : Celebration of Faith 

 

Brief description: Students create a questionnaire to find out about celebration of faith e.g. Christmas,ID,Easter,Dussehra in their partner school’s country. They will answer their partner school’s questionnaires and then discuss any similarities and/or differences between their and their partner school’s country and what they have learned from this. They can then present their findings.

Activity 1 : Preparation of Questionnaire Students prepare questions to ask their partner school about celebration of faiths, the  ceremonies followed on these special days .

 

Activity 2 : Exchange

 They will then exchange this information and discuss any similarities and/or differences.

Activity 3 : Sharing

 Students design a presentation about their findings and what they have learned from the project.

Brief description : The project aims at creating an awareness among school children on  how to protect and preserve environment and sharing their experiences with India, UK, UAE, Denmark.
